Arrow and the DC Expanded Universe

Since Arrow debuted on  The CW, DC’s presence on the big and small screen has expanded

Oliver Queen, The Green Arrow, was once the DC character notorious for being left out of The Justice League.  Everything changed for The Emerald Archer when his number was called by The CW.

Arrow, created by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg, and starring Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen/The Green Arrow, debuted on October 10, 2012.  The program featured appearances by a variety of DC Comics’ lesser-known characters.

Since its debut, Arrow has spun-off two new DCTV programs: The Flash and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.  Greg Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg teamed again to help create the television series Supergirl.

Several characters that were prominently featured in live-action on Arrow have been adapted for DC movies as well, including Deadshot, Katana, and Deathstroke.  Deathstroke is currently tied to Ben Affleck’s upcoming Batman solo film.

While The Green Arrow is still being left out of DC’s film plans, many DC characters have seen an increase in popularity that can be traced back to Arrow.
